eco friendly products in your hotel

Eco-friendly installation and processes save money for hoteliers and homeowners. Most systems that are powered by clean energy have low maintenance. Usually, the initial cost of setup can discourage buyers from using environmentally-friendly equipment. However, the business can stay competitive when they switch to renewable energy sources.

Solar Energy

Hotels consume more energy because they rely on heavy-duty equipment to run HVAC systems, supply electrical power, provide laundry, cooking, and refrigeration services for guests. It’s important for hotels, BnB, and resorts to adopt eco-friendly practices. They are more energy-conservative than traditional methods. More so, environmentally friendly plans are budget-friendly because they reduce the cost of maintenance. Solar panels can be connected to large size direct current (D.C) batteries. These special batteries have large storage capacities that can store electrical charges and expend same when after sunset. Apart from being friendly to the environment, solar installations are more sustainable. They can also support the hotel management in reducing their electric bill every month.

Automatic Sensors

Photovoltaic cells with sensors can be installed as outdoor light fixtures to conserve energy. Any hotel with high-end features of eco-friendly installation has the potential of attracting travelers. The light sensor activates the switch that controls electric bulbs; it automatically turns off the light at sunrise when the day starts to get brighter. Photovoltaic sensors also trigger lighting when it appears dark before sunset. So, they are best suited for outdoor lighting fixtures. Motion sensors at the entrance doors of hotel receptions are useful. Photosensors are like automatic lighting controls. Unlike the latter, the motion sensor will be automatically activated when guests are at least one meter close to the door. This installation plays a significant in hotels because guests wouldn’t need any effort to open entrance and exit doors.

Use Eco-friendly Cleaning Products

Cleaning services is an important function in a hotel, and care must be taken to use eco-friendly reagents and materials. Cleaning products with harsh chemicals can hazardous and environmentally unsafe. Bleaches like chlorine and petrochemical-based cleaners are toxic; these chemicals might be effective cleaning products, but they release pollutants into the atmosphere. However, innovative brands cleaning products are increasingly popular because they contain plant-based ingredients. Unlike synthetic chemicals that are offensive, plant-based resins have pleasant smells.

Install Eco-Friendly Filtration Systems

Most of the equipment used in hotels are heavy duty, and they consume energy on a large scale. Installing industrial water filtration systems is a sustainability strategy. The installation can be connected to countertop water dispensers. Managers of resorts and hotels can include eco-friendly water filtration machines and disposable cups in their budget list during the renovation. This system can dispense chilled potable water for staff and guests.

Use Refill Tubes and Containers

Instead of patronizing manufacturers of non-biodegradable plastic packaging materials, purchase money-saving products that are refillable. Revamp your hotel bathrooms by stocking them with money-saving alternatives like refillable shampoo, soap dispensers, and personal care products in recyclable wrappers. Bottles and metallic containers are not biodegradable and might cause pollution on land. Refill tubes can be customized with the hotel’s name and reused by subsequent guests in the future.

Reduce Landfill Waste

The kitchen of hotels in busy sections of the building. Usually, tons of food remnants are disposed every year by the management. Keeping a compost pile of food remnants is a better alternative that’s eco-friendly. Instead of churning out landfill waste, compost piles of food remnants can build fertile soil for the hotel’s garden and lawn. Compost piles of food remnants have an offensive odor because of trapped gases, but their importance is sustainable.
